This painting along with the Omega painting were commissioned by a couple for their silver wedding anniversary. The couple are Christians and much of the symbolism is a result of this. Each painting is a twin of the other, but with distinct differences. Each have a silver cross, and the rainbow coloured light falling down represents the holy spirit. This painting has the Alpha symbol and the other painting the Omega, to represent the timelessness of the married couples relationship. Each painting shows the couple praising God; of major importance in their lives. This painting shows the 25 years of marriage with roman numerals.
